OBIO-AKPOR 10TH LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL HOLDS SIXTH SITTING

The Obio-Akpor 10th Legislative Council held its sixth sitting, with the Leader, Rt. Hon. Rex-Milia Abuchi Amadi, welcoming councilors to the session. He reiterated the Council’s commitment to quality decision-making and good governance.
The Clerk of the House, Mrs. Sandra Aaron Igwe, Esq., read out the vote and proceedings of the legislative sittings of the day. The Chief Whip, Hon. Amb. Joy Odomene, moved a motion to adopt the order of the previous sitting.
Two motions were presented before the House:
1. Motion for Market Renovation and Sanitation, presented by Hon. Victoria Oroma Chinda, Councilor Ward 8, and Co-sponsored by Hon. Enyinda Achor, Councilor Ward 13. This motion detects the need for efficient sanitation exercises.
2. Motion for the Express Implementation of the Bye-Law on Regulation, Mounting, Dismounting, Locking, Opening, Renewal of Registration of Security gates on Streets and Roads in Obio/Akpor, by the Deputy Leader, Hon. Nyekwere Chinda, Councilor Ward 12, and Co-sponsored by Hon. Henry Amadi, Councilor Ward 17. This motion aims to regulate the activities of security agencies in the Local Government Area.
Order Matters of the day included a review of untreated motions (Appointment of an official Legislative Media Aide and Restrictions of Scavengers and Cart Pushers in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Respectively) brought before the House by Hon. Micheal Azuonwu, Councilor Ward 1, and Deputy Leader, Hon. Nyekwere Chinda, Councilor Ward 13, from the previous sitting, which was deliberated.
After the resolution, the Leader mandated the Clerk to forward a essay 6 resolution letter to the Executive Chairman.
The sitting was adjourned till the next legislative day after the Chief Whip, Hon. Amb. Joy Odomene, Councilor Ward 16, moved the motion, which was seconded by Hon. Edison Amadi, Councilor Ward 3.
